Thank you for supporting the Sandra Carberry Teaching Excellence Award. The goal of this effort is to raise $50,000 by June 30, 2026, in order to establish the Award as an endowed fund, so that it benefits the UD in perpetuity.

We are pleased to share that Prof. Carberry’s husband, John Carberry, has generously agreed to match the total sum of contributions, up to $25,000, effectively doubling the impact of gifts to the Award. Contributions can be pledged over a period of up to five years, allowing flexibility in fulfilling your commitment.

If the $50,000 goal is not met, the accumulated gifts will be spent out as current-use support for the Award instead of establishing an endowment. If, as a result of changed conditions in the future, the fund is not needed for the purpose stated, the President of the University, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, may designate all or part of the fund to such other purpose or purposes that will, in his or her judgment, most closely honor the original intent the gifts raised. All contributions made to the Award are restricted for use according to the original agreement.
